Single Foster and Adoptive Blogs

I want to make a blog list of all us single foster moms, single foster dads, single adoptive moms and single adoptive dads out there.  Right now, I don't know of any such list and honestly - we need to connect, find encouragement in the good times and have cheerleaders in the hard.

The growing list: (also added on MAIN blog LIST here)

If you are parenting solo through adoption or foster care, or know of a blogger who is, share the link in the comment section and I will the blog on the list.

And if you have a specific post or two about doing it solo, link to that too!

This gets tricky because I know a lot of people adopt when they are single and then go on to get married - which is great BTW.   If you adopted or fostered when single and have since gotten into a relationship or married, still share your link if you blogged while you were single (still good stuff out there).

  1. I can only think of one other single foster parent on my blog reader list: http://fosterhood.tumblr.com/ I'm always looking for more blogs written by foster parents so I'm looking forward to seeing your list, too.

  8. I'm fostering as a single mom too and am so glad to find a community because it sometimes feels a little lonely! I don't have a blog; I've considered writing one but have never taken the plunge! I've fostered to girls so far: a two and a half year old who turned three the day she left me to go to her grandparents, and currently an infant that I received placement of when she was five days old and who is now three months old!

  10. I just started one. I wanted to tell my unique story as a single foster dad, at the age of 23. (adopted my son at the age of 24, 2 days before my 25th birthday) It is live technically, but will be published soon so I thought you could include it. it is fatheringfurther.blogspot.com

  12. I love the list idea! We can now have each other for support. In my area in Texas I have had a very hard time finding support for single foster parents. My blog is amyjalane.blogspot.com :)
