Dear Foster Care Provider -*

We want to take this opportunity to thank you for the work you do in caring for children in foster care. By opening your home and heart, you play a vital role in helping children and families in crisis heal. Your commitment leaves an indelible mark on generations to come!

You are helping to end cycles of neglect, abuse and/or drug addiction. You are often helping a child be the first in his or her family to finish high school or go to college. Children leave your home knowing there are many paths in life that will lead to success Children leave your home with a model in mind of how they may one day successfully raise a family of their own.

Foster Families not only provide temporary homes, safety, and nurturing to our own children, but they also help birth families by ensuring that children can be safely reunited with them. You do a vital job when you teach children the skills they need to know how to get along later in life. The treatment you provide in your home for children in need of so much is invaluable.

We know you don't get nearly enough thanks or recognition for your efforts. We want you to know that we appreciate all you do! Although the children you've helped don't always tell you, we know thier lives have been changed forever having known and been helped by YOU.

Thank you for sharing your family and your home. Thank you for giving love, encouragement and hope to children and families in need.

You are our heroes!

* I recently recieved this letter from my licensing agency and it resonated with me. So for those of you who haven't heard it in a while, thank you. Thank you!
